Lady Griddilebone New Jakarta Restored Decoupage Cabinet

This unique and original 1930’s wood cabinet has been refurbished on the exterior with an “on-trend” rich green mineral paint, and a stylish black harlequin design to each side panel. The front of the piece features a stunning tropical mixed media collage, with decoupage Parakeet design, hand stencilling, textured and tinted “craquelure” glazing to add immense vintage character. Golden coloured metallic leaf shines from two carved circles, and edges some of the parakeet feathers. The whole scene is highlighted with gold metallic paint around the front edges of the cabinet, to hint at an elegant frame.

The interior is a calming neutral stone shade, with two original natural wood shelves. These have been sanded and refreshed with specialist furniture salve.  Golden harlequin design, added to the inside of the door panels, perfectly complements the exterior patterning. The doors have new black metallic knobs from Anthropologie, and the cabinet sits majestically on low black legs to add a contemporary touch.
