The British hedgerow is full of charming and mischievous plants. Although it can be considered a pest at times I was particularly drawn to the Bindweed during my daily walks in lockdown, for its velvety trumpet flowers, twinning habits and how it grows in abundance. 

The Bindweed has various medicinal properties and was commonly given as a gift. It is associated with the family and during the lockdown when my world, like many other people’s shrunk. Bindweed became a powerful symbol of family’s importance and strength.
